welcome - women composers

    Hlavní myšlenkou projektu je seznámit posluchače a širší veřejnost s tvorbou těchto mimořádných žen a jejich často unikátními osudy.  Odkaz skladatelek počínaje Sv.Hildegardou von Bingen, přes Královnu Marii Antoinette,  představitelky impresionismu Cecile Chaminade, Pauline Viardot a následně ženy 20. století a současnosti, skýtá krásná a líbivá díla vytvořená na základě zajímavých historických souvislostí.   Většina skladeb nalezených v archivech amerických knihoven a univerzit, např. Princeton, je uvedena v Čechách poprvé.
Prvním koncertem tohoto projektu byl koncert s názvem "Dux femina facti", který se   konal v  roce 2010 v Czech Center v New Yorku, kde umělkyně byly ozdobeny třemi kolekcemi šperků světoznámé návrhářky Blanky Matragi. Koncert proběhl pod záštitou nadace podporující ženy v umění "Friends of the National Museum of Women in the Arts". U nás projekt zazněl v rámci komorní řady České filharmonie a Symfonického  orchestru hl.m.Prahy FOK

         Music of the Queens is an extensive project of a flautist Žofie Vokálková describing works of women composing from old times – the Queens, romantic female – composers to modern female – composers. The idea of this project is to introduce listeners and the public to the works and unique lives of these extraordinary women.
The heritage of these female – composers, starting from St. Hildegarde von Bingen, over Queen Marie Antoinette, impressionists Cecile Chaminade, Pauline Viardot and then women of the 20th century and modern representatives, offers interesting and wonderful works based on historical context. The majority of pieces found in the archives of American libraries and universities (e.g. Princeton) are presented in the Czech Republic for the very first time.
The first concert of this project "Dux femina facti", which took place in the Czech Center in New York, was under the auspices of the foundation supporting women in the arts ("Friends of the National Museum of Women in the Arts"). On this occasion the performers wore three sets of jewels by world-famous designer Blanka Matragi.
In the Czech Republic this concert was given during the series of chamber performances of the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.
